16th March 1931 | Eldest son of Yousuf Ali, a renowned social worker, Mr. Serajuddin Ahmed was born at Kamarjuri in Joydebpur. |
1948 | Mr. Serajuddin Ahmed Matriculated (SSC) from his village school. |
1952 | Graduated from Salimullah College, Dhaka. Started his career with a trading company as an Executive (Commercial) but gave up and started his own venture “Elite Chemical Industries” at Agrabad, Chittagong. |
1974 | Establishment of Elite International Ltd and become Largest Tea Exporter of Bangladesh within short span of time. |

Between this decade, he established Karnaphuli Tanneries & Chemical Ltd., Elite Garments Industries Ltd., Elite Iron & Steel Industries Ltd. Delite Knitting Co. Ltd. on his own. | |
Apart from these he served as EC Member of Bangladesh Employers Association, as Member in Public Accounts Committee formed by Government of Bangladesh, as Special Representative in different Trade Bodies formed by Government of Bangladesh | |
Actively involved in creating the first Bangladesh Export Processing Zone in Chittagong. | |
He helped establish many Schools, Madrasas & Orphanages including a school(yousuf ali high school) in memory of his beloved father in Joydebpur. | |
To promote Football, he started Elite Paint Kishore Football League in association with Chittagong Jilla Krira Parishad, which still takes place every year. | |
To promote Arts & Socio cultural activities he started Bangladesh’s largest Art competition among children. | |
1977 - 1978 | Elected & Served as Chairman of Chittagong Club Ltd. |
1978 | Founded Bangladesh Paint Manufacturers Association. |
1981 | He Founded the First Private Bank in Bangladesh-Arab Bangladesh Bank Ltd.Now it is simply known as AB Bank Ltd. |
1981 - 1984 | Elected & Served as President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industries (CCC&I) |
1981 - 1984 | As one of the Eternal Founder member, founded Bhatiary Golf & Country Club. |
1985 | Sponsor Director of Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd. (BGIC) First Bangladeshi private general insurance company. |
1st May 1985 | Serajuddin Ahmed died at the age of 54 in Poland during an Official tour. |
